On Lookout

I finally saw a Golden Eagle chick in the nest that is up on the cliff along Convict Grade road yesterday. I only saw one, and didn't see any parents around. I'm thinking that this chick is around 8 weeks old, maybe more. I'll be checking the nest as regularly as I can. It would be cool to see this bird fledge from here, which could be around 10-13 weeks old...!

I can't say I've ever seen three turkey vultures in one spot since I've lived in Montana. But today driving up Mill Creek, this committee was enjoying a rotting roadside carcass.
