Ode to the Magpie

I am smitten with magpies. I know they are despised by most people, but I'm fascinated by their crafty intelligence. I'm respectful of their punk attitude and survival skills. So many blue eyed juveniles in my yard recently, plotting their next assignment.

Necessary Water

I am fortunate to have an old timer for a neighbor named Warren McGee, who waters everything diligently. Even when it rains, he waters every evening with his hose and was pleased to let me capture the moment.

Time

I took some time to enjoy the flowers that have come and gone in my backyard tonight.

Reflection

Such a stoic presence, this Great Blue Heron, anticipating.

Osprey

I settled down at Sacagawea lagoon this morning in the hopes of catching ospreys taking advantage of the recently stocked pond. Eventually, a pair flew over and dove right in.

Ravens

I observed some crafty ravens today on a well deserved drive to nowhere...

Rusty Hinge

I love the sound of the yellow-headed blackbird. Like slowly opening a door to an old barn.
