I saw my first Merlin on this perfect fall day, perched on a post. Also known as the pigeon hawk, this small falcon captures most of its prey in flight.

Fall Bear

Saw this black bear today in the creek close to our backyard. Meanwhile, Porter's soccer game was happening right across the road in Sacajawea Park...cool sighting today!

Garter Snake vs. Fish

We watched a garter snake grab a fish out of the water and drag it up onto the bank and into the brush to eat it. So cool watching the process!

Innate Skill

Witnessed a beautiful juvenile bald eagle attempt to catch a fish on the Yellowstone the other day, circling around a few times before it gave up and perched in a nearby tree.

Buried Treasure

This picture was taken in March of this year. Snow still hung onto the banks of the Yellowstone River, but what was underneath still hung on like magic to these boys, always searching...
